Happy Anniversary/An Award

Just wanted to wish my sister, Sandy, and my brother-in-law Steven a Happy Anniversary. Tommorrow they will celebrate eighteen years together. They married in Okinawa,Japan where my Dad was stationed with the Marines and Steven was stationed there with the Air Force. I had just started college again and could not go. I did help as much as I could by sending things to her for the wedding that she could not get over there. She made a beautiful bride. Steven has been a wonderful member of our family. He treats Sandy with the utmost respect, believe it or not he does a lot of the cleaning and laundry in their home. They are wonderful parents to three wonderful boys. We hope you have a fabulous day.

I want to thank Christina for this award. Christina was one of my very first Blogging friends that I made. She has been extremely sweet and has two great blogs. Thanks again Christina you are really special.
Now I want to pass this on to:
Dawn
Denise
Fran
Brandy
Jennifer

I love all of these for various reasons. Go check them out and you'll see why.
Blessings,

Fun with boys

A simple trip to Sports Authority to purchase two soccer balls turns into a one hour adventure for Carson and Cameron. Oh and dad will say he was just an innocent bystander but he was right in the middle and loving it! By the way, even thought there is not a picture we did actually purchase the soccer balls. :)

School Already?????

Well school has started here so of course I have to post the annual back to school pictures. Chandler has been at the same school since k-5 and is now a sophmore so he will continue where he is but other two are going to be homeschooled. Carson is in 1st and Cameron is in preschool. We all started on Tuesday. Cameron will actually go to a little preschool two mornings a week starting next month but until then he does little workbook pages and art work and things with Carson and I. I was in the process of turning our dinning room that was an office back into a dinning room when I got the brainy idea that I would just make it a school room. The picutures of the little ones show a little bit of the room behind them. I took the picture of Chandler by himself and the one of Chandler and David right after each other I am not sure why one looks like I took it at night.

In other exciting news... Chandler got his permit. YIKES! He is actually doing very well. He only drives with David or myself alone I am not ready to put the pressure of driving with the little ones in the car on him I just don't think that is very wise. :)
Have a great day!
Blessings,

Hall Bath

I recently took down the builder mirror in my hall bath and put up this mirror that I have had forever. I am not sure if I am really satisfied with the outcome. I was trying to make a change without spending any money. So I painted the standard light that was brass, brown you can see in the picture where I have some brown paint on the wall (oh well). It is okay but when I can find one on sale I plan to change the fixture out. After removing the mirror there was wallpaper behind it so I had to remove that and I painted the room with left over paint from another room in the house. It is really pretty similiar to what was there before. I did buy the pictures from Hobby Lobby when they were 50% off. I do somewhat like it but I believe my tastes change with the wind because now I am thinking of getting a more decorative mirror and painting the cabinets black. I am liking a more sleek look. Which would mean some $$$ so I will probably leave it like this for a little while. The curtains are some mistreatments (thanks Nester) that I did a while ago. I can see though that I did not do as good a job of hanging them as they were before I painted. You can't see the pleats very well. I will have to adjust those.
How about you? Have you painted your cabinets and if so how difficult was it to do?
Hope you have a great weekend.
Blessings,

A Birthday, an Award and so much more

Today is my sweet husband, David's birthday. I am so blessed to have this man in my life. We met in high school and have been together ever since. He is an awesome daddy, not one day goes by in this house that he is not outside playing ball, teaching how to ride bikes or just chillin on the couch with the kids watching their favorite disney shows. He will be coaching both younger ones this fall in soccer and is very involved in Chandler's soccer club and is the manager of his team. He loves the Lord and really his entire life revolves around our family and how he can provide for us to spend as much time together as possible. Honey, we love you and hope it is wonderful day!!!

I was plesantly suprised to have received these awards from Kim. I love visiting her blog and I was humbled when I found out she passed them onto me. She is a sweet christian who loves her family and can really make you think when you read some of her posts on spiritual things.
I have such a hard time selecting a blog for an award because I really am so attatched to all on my list and several more. So I am going to cheat a little and if you would like to accept the award please do if you are on my list. I enjoy each and everyone of your blogs. I am probably missing several though because I am so in need of updating the blogroll.

Your “official instructions” follow. Now go forth and share the love! To the recipients of the award...pick five blogs you consider deserving of this award, whether for creativity, design, interesting material, or contributions to the blogging community, no matter what language. Name each nominee and link to his/her blog. Show the award and include the name (and link to his/her blog) of whoever presented you with this award.Link to the Arte y Pico blog so everyone knows the origin of this award. Post these rules.

She was also having a give away and I won a handmade prayer journal, anticipating its arrival. :)
I will take a picture and post when I receive it.

My Sister, Sandy and my three nephews arrived last night. They will be here til Tuesday morning so I am looking forward to getting caught up with her.Sh Don't tell her but I am hoping I can get some stuff painted while she is here. She is so talented. I will just casually bring it up one day like hey that would be nice to have hanging on my wall right here but I am sure you don't have the time, she'll say yes I do and I'll say I don't want to put you out but okay what are you waiting for start painting you're only here til Tuesday for heavens sake!:)
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
