Snoring, Swollen face, and a Profound statement!!

Interesting week here. I have not been able to sleep because my dh has informed me that I snore and that I need to buy some nose strips of some sort to curtail this new annoying problem. I don't think it is new though, I just think he has been coming to bed later than me thanks to college basketball (especially the Memphis Tigers) which means I am falling asleep first and usually it is the other way around. Needless to say each time he lovingly pushes me to get me to stop snoring I am awake and it takes another hour for me to solve the world's problems before I can fall asleep. ( hehe) Then my sweet Lab's lips(if they have them?) were swollen, I noticed it at night and thought she would be fine but much to my dismay I woke up after a nudging from dh to find my dog's eyes were even swollen shut in fact her whole face looked like a balloon. YIKES! The emergency vet said I could give her benedryl I was so thankful for the information over the phone however, I did not have benedryl so off to the local neighborhood wal-mart to obtain the face normalizer for the dog, did I mention it was 3:30a.m.? Did it work you ask? No! She began doing weird stuff like getting in the bath tub (with no water) hiding under the bed and whinning. So off the the vet we were early this morning to find that she had a severe allergic reaction to something, was given some steroids, and now we are home. She is doing better for those who might actually care.(hehe) My middle one, Carson asked what she was allergic to. Funny question that will never be answered because this dog will eat anything from a plastic dinosaur head to power ranger arms and legs to a bar of soap and of course her normal dog food and anything she can find in the trash if she can get to it. So for now I will watch her every move as if I really needed anything else to add to my already busy schedule.

On a really sweet and very profound note, my 4yr old, Cameron told me on the way to school today that "the bad guys had to put Jesus on the cross" I asked him why he thought that and he very matter of factly replied "if they didn't then he couldn't come live in our heart". As I pondered the day I had to smile....with all the crazy, bizzare things that can occur in a day there really is only one thing that matters... Does Jesus live in your heart?
Have a great weekend.

Blessings,

Linda

Linda, What a precious story you share about your son. I love those moments! It is especially sweet for me on the day that I sent my oldest off on a 5 month mission trip. I am remembering the days of years ago today. Your story brought back sweet memories.

Also, thank you for stopping by my blog. And thank you for your offer to pray as God reminds you. That blesses me!

Blessings,
Julie

Hi Linda - I think I snore too. But it's because I work myself into a frazzle daily and don't fall asleep until late! I always need to finish that "one last thing"...ya know?
We have a yellow lab and she'll eat just about anything as well. Sometimes I wonder if she has taste buds. I am glad your dog is better - the steroids should do the trick. I've never heard of Benedryl for Dogs! I learn something new every day.
Love Love Love the story about Cameron - precious!! God is with that child, my dear. Praise Him!!
Thanks for stopping by my blog sweets! It's always a pleasure to hear from you - and you take care this weekend - I've got quite the load on my plate - I think it's overflowing, but I'll get through it. I can and I will! heehee :)
Hugs friend! xo Sherri

"Out of the mouths of babes" and the fact that you never know what they are absorbing. Bless Cameron.
Thanks for the email update and I'm
glad the lab is better. Love to all. Grandma

I love the reflections of children. Sometimes they see more clearly than we do!

Oh I could just eat up that little Cameron of yours - he's a sweetie!

WOW ~ Dallas sure is a spitfire isn't she? Make sure that the flowers in your backyard are not poisonous. Remember Sebastian - his face ballooned up cause he was bitten by a centipede. Steroids make them go to the bathroom - lots so hope you are dealing with a bunch of accidents this weekend too!
Have a great weekend sis! Mailed your keychain to ya today!

Love ya

Linda...

Are you serious? You went to the store at 3:30am??? That's nuts...thank goodness the doggie is doing better now, right?

What a great thing Cameron brought up...I love when kids start to get it...it is just amazing!

Oh...you are so RIGHT ON when you say dh just noticed due to late nights with sports...my dh is asleep the second the light turns off...he would probably never notice (unless he came to bed later) that I snore or not.

I've been known to snore too, but in a sweet and precious way! ha! My husband snores (not precious) and he tried the breathe strips and after a few days they really did a number on the skin on his nose. I think you hit the nail on the head - your husband just needs to go to sleep first and then you won't snore? And such a precious story about your son. Very sweet.

Linda, I loved the story about your son....we can learn so much from children, and in how they don't "edit" out their beliefs and feelings. Yes, He lives in my heart, too!

I'm so sorry to hear about your doggie, and I hope that it doesn't happen again. I had to giggle about the Memphis Tigers ballgames keeping him up....they do us, too! :)

That makes me sad about your dog. I'm glad he's better. I never knew a dog could have an allergic reaction like that where their eyes would swell shut.

Guden tag Gagnon family. Sure hope Dallas is feeling better. The same thing happened to Bear last year but we think he was stung in the face by a bee. How about those Tigers!!! Some games are hard to watch. Reminds me of the Tigers in the 80's when they were winning in the last 8 seconds of the game. Real nail biters. You are so right Cameron (so precious are the unfiltered words of a child). Hugs for everyone!!
Love ya,
Mom and Dad

Ahhhhhhh... Thanks Cameron!
Now for the dog... My dog has allergies too and every year they seem to worsen! I think that I may have found the source though. Being that she only has this problem in the beginning of Spring, I think that it's pollen. Not just any old pollen. But English Ivy Sap/Pollen! And we have lots of it! So... guess what I get to do in February! Pull all the ivy up! YUCK!!! Hopefully, this solves the problem! Last year we had to take her to the ER, because her throat began swelling shut! That was the worst reaction as of yet!
Keep up posted on your dog! And... sleep lots tonight!
