School and a new opportunity

Well today is the last official day before school starts. I love having my kids home. I am going to really miss them. Carson is starting K-5 and will only be gone 1/2 day so it won't be too bad, but the oldest starting high school and between being gone all day doing homework and sports practices at night it can become difficult to connect oh and of course the fact that he is a teenager plays a huge part in the connecting department. Anyway I will miss them terribly.
Next year I plan to homeschool my little ones though so I am interested to see the differences within our family of having one in school and the other two at home I really wanted them to do K-5 at a school so that they could get an idea of just what structure is involved in school and that there will be a time for play but also a devoted time for learning.

The Lord has given me an opportunity this year that I could not pass up. I was asked to teach the 4-k class in the preschool program that my little ones attend. The kindergarten is there also and it will only be 3 hours a day and my children will be right there with me in the same location( which we could walk to from home) so I accepted and am looking forward to it. I am a little nervous though as the preschool begins in 2 1/2 weeks and I just found out 2 days ago and I have tons to do to prepare. I really believe the Lord will use this to jump start me into homeschooling next year. The people I will be working with are incredible and I am excited to see what the Lord will teach me this year through these new relationships with my collegues, students and parents. I am praying that as I embark on this new adventure He will give me strength and motivation to keep my home running smoothly so as not to take away from my husband and kids.
I want to leave you another nugget that my pastor would use in the pulpit.

"Never doubt in the dark what God has shown you in the light."
Blessings

"Never doubt in the dark what God has shown you in the light." Your pastor sounds amazing! I am going to have to print this, hang it on my fridge and (if it's okay) post it on my blog.
I have been going through something lately and this has really touched my heart. Thank you and thank your pastor for me!!!
Blessings on your last "out-of-the-house" school year. Being that this is my first year home schooling, I am really having to knead the kinks out of everything, but watching my girls grow and learn - the time that I am investing in them is sooooooo worth it and they are already expressing their thanks!!!
If I can ever be of ANY assistance to you, please let me know.
In Him,
~Christina

I know you bound to be excited about teaching the kids! What an awesome opportunity that God has given you. My sister teaches in public school and she feels it is such a calling to be used by God for little ones. Even though she is in a public school, she still finds ways to spread the love of Jesus to them. I can't wait to hear all about your new adventures when you start!

Oh, I am so excited for you. I know you will do an incredible job with the little ones. Did I read it right that you can walk to the preschool where you will be teaching? We can walk to Mallory's preschool also. It is two doors down from us at the Methodist church. I will keep you in my prayers as you prepare for your sweet class.

Adele,
Yes we can walk. Our home backs up to a wonderful field and if we walk through the tree line the Baptist church is on the other side. Thanks for the encouragement

Christina, I am glad you liked the quote. My pastor passed away in November 2005. I don't know if you ever heard of Adrian Rogers. He founded Love Worth Finding and was the pastor of our church for over 30- years. I know they still run his preaching on tv Sunday mornings throughout the world along with his program on several christian radio stations. He had just retired in March 2005 and was diagnosed with cancer a month later. I feel so blessed to have sat under his teaching of the word for 10 years.
As far as homeschooling goes I wish you well with it this year and I will probably need all the help I can get when I am picking cirriculum and trying to prepare so I am sure I will take you up on asking for assistance. Thanks

Love that quote! I'm with Christina, I'm going to post it on my blog. What a blessing it must have been to hear in person God's message through Adrian Rogers. So happy for your new opportunity. What a wonderful time you will have and be close to your children at the same time. Take care and keep us updated. You'll have to keep a journal of all of your stories from this year. Hugs ~ Kim
