I just read this in Max Lucado's book, It's Not About Me. It jumped right off the page.......
Is there any chance, any possibility, that you have been selected to struggle for God's Glory?
I know when I face struggles the first thing I usually do is try to figure out what I have done wrong why this would be happening to me. Sometimes I can be legalistic and think maybe I did not pray enough, go to church enough, or tithe enough when in all actuality there is nothing I can do to make him love me more. There are times when I know right away that I may be suffering because of a poor choice I made and the struggle is the consequence to sin but there are a lot of other times that I just can't understand what God is doing in my life. I know that once I have been through a struggle I peek over my shoulder at what lies behind and I always see His fingerprints. Dear friend if you are struggling right now just hold on tight to the creator of the Universe, the one who chose to breathe life into you, who has a plan for each of your days.
Blessings,
Linda

I haven't read a Max Lucado book in a while but this looks like it would speak to me right now. Thanks for mentioning it and have a blessed week!
Thanks for sharing this. I will look for it.
I hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday! I'm sorry I haven't been by in a while ... life has gotten a little busy for me.
That book looks great ... I think I might get it for myself.
Blessings!

Found you through Kelly. Wow! What an inspirational blog! Your post on Lucado was powerful! Thank you for being so open and honest. : )
Our Sunday School teacher actually gave this to every couple in our class last year. I'm sorry to say I haven't read it, but I think my husband read it for the second time not too long ago. Ironically, it's sitting on the table right beside our chair in the living room. Perhaps I will read it next after I finish my current book!
Hi,
I love your blog title--it's one of my favorite Bible verses and reminds me of the Lord's wonderful covenant promise to His children!
Blessings~

Hi Linda,
Your blog is SOOOO beautiful! Note to self: Need to visit Linda's blog more often. Such a great encouragement! I've not read that book yet, but our pastor preached a message on the subject last year and it was life-changing. Yes, some people are specially chosen by God to suffer -- and I'm learning that "those" people come to know God closely in a very special way. Great post! Happy New Year!
Trish
Thanks for the reading recommendation! (I saw you over at Bia's blog.)
I've read other books of his, but not this one, I would love to read it for myself. Thank you.
I enjoyed visiting your blog today... Even in the struggles his purpose in my life becomes so evident. The hills and the valleys have taught me valuable lessons.
All that I cannot control I leave in his hands, life is a journey good or bad, how we react to them will determines each outcome. I will look for this book, he is one of my husbands favorite author. Aloha Joyful
