A Question and a Quote

We have been soooo extremely busy around here that I haven't had a chance to post since Sunday but I have of course made time to "blog lurk" or sometimes I feel like I am "blog stalking" anyway I probably would not have been sooooo busy if I took that little part of my last couple of days out.

Here is my question...
Does the pool count as a bath?

Here is my quote....
Raising Teenagers is like trying to nail Jello to a tree.

Having given this quote I must add that I adore my teen it's just, I never know who I am going to wake up to in the morning. His mood can be the best ever and 5 minutes later I am convinced that aliens invaded his body. :) Oh no!!! I just realized that this must be how my husband feels about me during a certain week out of the month, ouch! I better work on that, but back to teens. I have learned that if he wants to talk I better be ready because the first time I say no he won't come again. I have also learned, and really this applies to everyone. When they deserve to be loved the very least is when they need it the very most.(from Mom's bible study teacher, Jean) Chew on that for a minute and think when you might be having a really bad day and you have spoken unkindly to your husband don't you just really want a hug and someone to say it's gonna be all right?

It is a very interesting season of life I am in right now. I have a 3 yr old, a 5 yr old and 14 yr old. One starting K-5 and one starting High School. The little ones are so much fun but can keep me physically drained. The teen is so much fun but can keep me emotionally drained. Bottom line is I am drained and God has a keen sense of humor.. He is the only way I can make it through these days. :)

Blessings

Hi Linda,
You know I asked myself the samething last week when we visited a friend and swam in their pool. LOL! You know...I guess so! I remember being a teen and going through hormones and having my personality really show.
You are a very busy momma there. WOW! Kuddos to you. I have a 4 year old and a 2 1/2 month old and boy do I think I have it rough at times. :-) I have a little more inspiration now. Love your blog. Thank you for stopping by mine and leaving a little note. Have a Great Day! Nicole

I don't know if a dip in the pool is the same as a wash in the tub~ hehehe.
I'm right there with you on the teenage years - right after the other too!
You are so right on when we deserve it least is when we need it more! I'm writing that on a piece of paper and putting it on the fridge!
Have a great day!

Great thought to chew on (the one you asked us to). And I totally agree. Reminds me of the Lord's love for me as well...I so desperately need it when I deserve it the least (not that I ever 'deserve' it).

Hoping He sustains your drained emotions/temple! :)

In my house the pool sometimes counts as a bath. It really depends on how many days that it has been since a "real" bath.LOL Some days you just have to go with the flow. Having such a wide range of ages would be very interesting, I think. You have a kindergartener that is just starting school and a young man that is starting high school. Wow, you must be tired! I have three 11, 7, and 3, and they keep me busy. I can't imagine throwing in those teenage moods. My time is coming though! I am enjoying your blog. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much for posting on my blog. I really love your blog! Raising kids certainly takes a toll on us, doesn't it? It certainly makes us depend on God. I just loved this post and agree that when kids deserve to be loved the least is when they need it the most. So true. I will be back to your blog. :)
God Bless You.

You know as I read your blog, I think...God is so good and sends me so many blessings. To think almost a year ago I happened in to Hobby Lobby and saw Sandy's flyer for OS painting classes. Who would have known that I would have become such good friends with Sandy and feel like I know her sister nearly as well through blogging. (I didn't even know what a blog was a year ago!) You are both such a blessing to me and I'm so thankful for your inspiration and spiritual reinforcement. Great post and girl, your blogging is definitely a "tool"! Oh, and YES...my Mom really is 68! Doesn't she look great?!?! Hugs ~ Kim

Your blog entry made me think of a book. Cindi Wood is a wonderful Christian woman (that I know personally) that wrote this book about being a frazzled female. She talks about how the Bible relates to our lifestyles and what we, as women, need to do to not be so frazzled. You can check out her webpage for yourself...

I really needed to read this post mid-summer. Thank you. I have had a difficult time with my Tween's mood swings, and sometimes I react to her attitude. I have learned a lot about myself and how I treat my husband, too. "When they deserve to be loved the very least is when they need it the very most" ... this is how Christ and my husband love me. My daughter deserves the same.

I can also relate to your challenge with your kids' age differences. My oldest wears me down verbally, and my youngest is 5 and is a never-ending source of energy. It is completely exhausting!

Oh, I forgot to answer your first question! Yes!, it does count, unless you're going somewhere important and you don't want them to smell like pool chemicals. A little soap now and again is probably a good thing too. (I have friends who must wash their children within moments of leaving a pool *every time*. But my kids never died from pool water, and they look clean enough to me!)
