To Sell or Not To Sell??????

We had our house on the market for about 4 months, took it off for 3 months, put it back on for 3 months and now it has been off for 2 months. We did have a serious offer but they wanted us out too soon and we did not have another house picked out yet. This is the beauty of not having to move, you really can choose to say no. This is also a nightmare for our poor realtor. We have lived here a little over 15 years. It is a great house, it really does accomidate our family well. We live in a sub-division but our home backs up to a very well kept field with trees and a lot of space. ( the picture is of part of our yard and part of the field) We feel like we have the best of both worlds, a sub-division with neighbors yet when we are out back we feel like we are in the country. We are centrally located to just about everything we do and to my inlaws so I have to wonder if everything is so wonderful why on earth would we sell? Well I can't answer that question except to say maybe we just need(want) a change, something different to sort of begin another chapter of life in? I find it so hard to justify a want when it is not necessarily a need. I know we don't ever want to be house poor. I don't want to look at my children when they ask if they can do something and have to say to them no, too much money, lets just look at our pretty house. Decisions, decisions, oh well so much to think about, lots to pray about, and plenty to do. And so the saga continues........ to sell or not to sell?.......

On a hopefully "lighter" note. My weight watchers has been going well this week. I can't wait to weigh in on Thurs. My goal was 3 pounds seeing as it is my first week back in a while. Normally I will just be very thankful for a loss no matter what it is.

Have a great day!!

Blessings

It is such a huge decision. Your house does sound perfect for your family but I don't blame you for wanting a change. 15 years is a long time to be in one place. Hopefully you'll find the right house in the right neighborhood and your decision will be easier.

Love your view out back, but I totally understand maybe wanting a change. Here's what I do, place it in God's hands, and wait for his answer.

Congrats on being good with your diet. Me...not so good this week. :-(

Hugs!

I just hate to move. My husband and I are both packrats so the thought of moving is horrifying to me! Our house is almost 4,000 square feet and we're pretty much down to just Wayne and I. We really should downsize but I just can't do it! Anyway, great post and good luck! Oh, great job on WW. I'm not expecting to do too well tomorrow because I haven't been writing things down like I should with the party and compnay around. Hugs ~ Kim

If I were in as much doubt as you, I'd probably sit. Be still.
Dontcha just wish that God would sometimes just come down in person and have a cup of coffee with ya and just tell you exactly what to do?
Someday we will be with Him in flesh, but for now I hold on to Psalm 25:4-5.
To sell or not to sell...

Thanks for visiting my blog. I love the way God hits us over the head sometimes with His Truth.

Don't have a clue about your house. We just bought our first home a year ago, so I have no advice for you.

I do, however, love the painted tiles you featured a few posts ago. They are lovely.

This is a dilema I understand, because I do love to move and have a change. I agree with Kat ... ask for God's direction, and he will answer.

Love your blog! I'll be back.

Hey...we've had our house up for sale since Nov. and no takers. We've had lookers but no contracts. We are selling to be closer in town but we're not going to give the house away just b/c the market is bad. If we sell fine, if we don't fine. I say if you can get what you want for your house, sell. You can turn around and get a good deal on another house right now.

I'm also doing Weight Watchers. I'm not doing meetings, just through the material that I already had and a support group every other week with my church. I decided to weigh-in on Thurs. too. Hopefully we'll both do good on Thursday.
